Rotaract

What is Rotaract?

A Rotary sponsored service group for young professionals ages 18-35. Internationally Rotaract has over 7,000 clubs in about 163 countries and geographical areas. It has grown to be one of Rotary's most significant service programs.

What Does Rotaract Do?

  • Volunteer with local and international charities
  • Plan and host events to raise money for charities
  • Host club social events for networking and socializing

Examples of Rotaract Events include:

Local Service:

  • Salvation Army- Volunteer to serve meals twice a month
  • Community Pride Day- Cleaned up local parks and streams
  • Chicken and Corn Feed- Assist Rotary in their annual fundraiser

International Service

  • Kids Against Hunger- Packaged meals at Albert Lea High School, the meals are provided to local food banks and also hsipped to children in over 40 underdeveloped countries
  • ShelterBox- ShelterBox provided emergency aid for victims of natural disasters by deploying "shelter boxes" which contain supplies to support 10 people for up to 6 months. Rotaract is currently raising funds to support one shelter box.

Social Events

  • Kickball games, Honkers Games, BBQ's, and networking events

Rotaract Meeting Time and Place:

Rotaract has one group meeting a month held on the first Tuesday of the month at the Coffee House on Main in Austin, MN. The meeting starts at 6:00pm.

Dues:

Each member is responsible for yearly dues of $40. This money helps the club cover general and administrative fees and helps provide seed money for fundraisers and events. Dues are collected annually each January.
